I've been looking at flower girl baskets, and I don't like any that I've seen, and I think they're charging too much for a simple basket that will never be used again. I found a basket i LOVE online that I could paint/decorate/do whatever to it..

What do you think? What would you do to this basket to make it seem more wedding-ish? My wedding is pretty casual, and I could leave it that color, as it is very pretty.. But any one have any ideas?
Also, my colors are sage green, yellow, and pink. Flowers are daisies. Her dress will be white with a sage sash.
Flower girl basket?
Find some pretty ribbon at the craft store (maybe a ribbon that has the green, yellow and pink in a plaid pattern) and wrap around the handle, with pretty bows at each end. They can even make the bows for you at the craft store.
Then I would find a pretty napkin, maybe with a nice lace edge, to use as a liner to the basket. You could even just buy some lace border and sew it to any cloth napkin.
EDIT: I'm not why we all got "thumbs down" for these answers...I think we're all giving good suggestions!
Reply:I couldnt open up the website, but I'd go with daisies on it.
Reply:You could leave it plain or spray paint it white( one dollar)...thread some sage ribbon (50 cents) thru the bottom and around the handle and call it done. viola a cute cheap flower girl basket.
Reply:You could put ribbon around it that matches your colors..maybe since she is wearing a sage sash have a pink ribbon on the basket and put a few daisies on it to get the yellow. Other than that I don't think the basket needs much if it's a pretty casual wedding.

Reply:Ah! I have a basket just like that from my sister's first wedding. Instead of bouquets, her bridesmaids carried baskets of flowers. Well, I'm using the basket as my flower girl basket and I've taken ribbons in my wedding colors and twisted them around the handle. I've also entwined ivy around the edges of the basket! I don't have a pic, but if I did, I'd show you.
Reply:I did something similar for my wedding, and for the exact same reason. I spray painted my basket white and then added ribbon to the handle in my wedding color. My sister-in-law's mom took a simple basket and covered the whole thing in some white satin(ish) fabric. She secured it using a hot glue gun and added some blue ribbon to the side to match the wedding colors.
Reply:I agree with you - sites have baskets which are horribly overpriced, and most are that bucket style which I don't think is pretty anyway...
The one you show is fine - although craft stores will have them even cheaper.

Decorating can be simple, lining it with fabric, adding a ruffle/lace - whatever you choose. Some ideas -
