I'm getting married next year in April %26amp; I've been thinking about my wedding colors. I've decided on white, turquoise, and fuschia. My dress will be white %26amp; i want a white %26amp; fuschia bouquet. For the bridesmaids, I want them to have fuschia dress with a white %26amp; turquoise bouquet. I've been looking online %26amp; can't find any turquoise flowers/bouquets. Should this be a problem? Will I be able to find turquoise flowers? Fake or real, it doesn't matter. I don't know much about flowers, but can't they spray them different colors? Please give me any suggestions %26amp; ideas!
Wedding colors? bouquet?
Congratulations on your engagement! It's great that you are taking the time to truly plan, from what you have written, a great wedding. I truly like your color choices. It seems as though you answered your question, by purchasing the plastic versions of the style of flower you want, buy the white, and pick the turquoise color to match and spray on, sounds like a great idea. (Michaels or Joann's) Plus, it would depend on where you are located, as well as the location of your wedding itself. So, do keep that in mind when seeking these particular floral arrangements. My other thought is to seek some local florist and inquire this of them, if they can make this happen for you, as you are 11 months ahead of the time of your set wedding date. Good luck and be safe....(smiles)
Reply:You are very welcome. I am so glad that I could be of assistance. Again, good luck and congratulations...Take care! (smiles) Report It
Reply:If you take samples of the fabric of your dress and the bridesmaids dress to a florist they will advise you on what flowers are available, in what colours, and what colours will work best with your dresses. They can also advise you on the possibility of silk flowers if necessary. You may find the florist suggests a colour scheme that works better than the one you have chosen - they are experts after all.
Reply:you can find turquoise fake flowers, but not real flowers, unless you go with something like a blue hydrangea, which isn't really turquoise. it's a lighter blue, but it's not pale, so if you're doing bright fuschia dresses, this may be a good choice.
and really, if these are the colors you want, then go for it...all these people who try to make you change the colors because they don't like it, well, it's not their wedding, now is it?
Reply:my colors were turquoise, coral and silver. my arrangement was coral with a mix of roses and calla lillies and my bridesmaids wore turquoise dresses with an all coral arrangement. i loved the arrangement from McShans. Look them up on line and we went to Hobby Lobby for my toss bouquet and they have a wide variety. Not sure of your budget, but I also went to Dollar Tree (different locations), Garden Ridge, Michael's, even try Wal-Mart and Target. Shop around. My arrangement and my brides maids were all real, but if you like artificial, there are so many selections that look real. I have several pics on my "my space" if you have one %26amp; want to add me to take a look. let me know or give me an email and i would be happy to show you that way to. don't know how to upload them to this just yet. i'm fairly new on this.
Becky :)
Reply:They don't spray real flowers, they usually let the dye go in through the stem.
I advise silk flowers. The dye would probably stain the dresses.
Reply:Below are really nice and they smell really good too.
Fushia/ pinkish/whitish:
Lily, oriental
White:
Lily of the Valley - my favorite yummy!!!
Gardenia
Stephanotis
As for the bridesmaids:
My cousin had a bouquet that was turquoise was pretty nice too, roses.
Reply:my sister couldn't find the pink lilies that she wanted so we bought cream colored silk lilies and got flower spray from a local florist to spray on them.... and they look great! the dye doesn't come off either! so maybe go to a local florist and see if they will sell you turqoise flower spray! and buy some white or cream colored flowers that you like and spray away!
Reply:My wedding was white, baby blue and royal purple and let me tell you it was a royal pain finding the blue roses. I had to use fake roses but that was OK since it cost ALLOT less. I ended up finding them at Wal-Mart in the craft section. I went to all the craft stores and everything!!!
Hope this helps
