Im interested in making fimo clay jewelry. HOW DO THEY MAKE THE PRETTY DESIGNS?

i seen online some fimo clay STICKS, which are like a roll of snowmen or something that you just cut up. But I want to make my own, and i want more than just swirlies....lol...how do they make the flowers, and things?

I have been using polymer clay for about 6 years now. I think you are asking about polymer clay caning. It it a very detailed process, but I have many dsites bookmarked for reference.

Make sure you have all the tools you need to make your canes...they can be tricky at times, but once you get the hang of it, it get to be a lot of fun!

Reply:If you go to HGTV.com and look under the carol duval show she always has femo patterns how to make the flowers,checker board rolls,bricks that when put together look like animal prints. I learned a lot of my techniques from there.

Reply:Try this. Take a small ball of fimo and press a button into it. You might have to go through a lot of buttons in a button can to find the perfect ones. I always like my grandmother's button can. Pick out some fancy buttons but not too big, you might even want to use some of them in your jewelry. You could also press a little ball of fimo with two buttons as the same time. Add holes with a paper clip opened out and set aside for the oven. Have Fun! :)



If you use my other tip first and lay coils together to make a flower (view from the end) roll together and cut off little pieces with a string. (Wrap string all the way around and pull gently but firmly.) Then press between two flower buttons, you will have a very fancy bead. :)
