What is the name of this Orchid?!?

I was in New York City recently and bought these beautiful blue/teal/purple orchids. I have never seen them before. Does anyone know what they are called? I've tried looking online and come up with nothing.

Here is a link to a picture I took of them.

What is the name of this Orchid?!?
It seems to be a kind of Dendrobium, but, like yourself, I haven't found the specific one (species?). I believe it is naturally and not a novelty hybrid.

Your flash has it exactly right. These are the colors that you see this plant everywhere in Thailand. It is an unofficial national symbol (they have a different, less impressive national flower for some reason) and it is worn in women's hair, used as an offering to Buddha statues and even served as a garnish to food and cocktails!

If you type "orchids thailand" into Yahoo! images, you will see some more examples in the wild.

Everything but the name....!
Reply:It is certainly a Dendrobium, most likely a hybrid. It's probably shipped in from SE Asia, and without the tag it will be unlikely that you will definitively find out what it is. With hybrids, it could be a mundane specimen of a spectacular hybrid, or a spectacular specimen of a mundane hybrid.

Also, your flash is affecting the colour of the flowers, making identification of potential parents very difficult.

My recommendation is to call the shop where you got it and ask them if they can tell you more specifically.
Reply:Also, why not post your question on Garden Web? Someone may be able to help you in the Orchid section.
