Is it allowed to take a potted plant internationally? Specifically, from EU to USA.?

I've a potted flower that was a special gift from my husband. When we move from the EU to the USA next month, I'd like to take it with me but cannot find any information online if this is permissible.

not only no but heck no, that's one of the first questions they as at immigration. do you have any plants, fruits or veggies that you have brought from another country. sorry but the special plant isn't going to make it, find a nice spot and plant it there for everyone to enjoy or find a nice home for it with friends there and maybe they can send you pictures of it once in a while.
