I need help with wedding plans!!!?

I have very slow internet, and I only get to be online for an hour a night. I am trying to find out about how much it would cost for catering for 100 people, to be married at the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse in Mendocino, CA, how much flowers will cost, a 3-tier cake, etc. The wedding is set for March. I am not currently able to look this stuff up any other way besides the internet, and with my internet access so limited...well...I'm in a bit of a situation. And on a tight budget. If anyone knows anything that can help me, I'm desperate!

I need help with wedding plans!!!?
Hey again, kiddo.

Did you think to ask your sister?

You know, she did a wedding last year for one of the guys at my station. Very pretty and all ellegant like without being boring.

And it's hard to do elegant without getting boring!

Anyway, think she'd e a good deal. Besides she gets itchy just sitting around and watching everyone else work.

Good luck
Reply:No matter what your budget is the reception is always fifty percent of that budget. And it does not matter if you are having a breakfast at a hotel or a catered dinner at a banquet hall or a barbecue at your Grandfather's farm.

The most recent statistics say that $185 is the average per person cost for food and beverages at a wedding in the US (and that covers from Maine to California). So you can multiply $185 times 100 people to get a good idea.

And the average cost of a wedding in the US is about $22,000 (gown, flowers, tuxedo, three-tiered wedding cake, DJ, photographer and wedding album, invitations, postage, reception food and drink, and decorations).

Wedding cakes are ordered "by the slice." The average cost of a wedding cake is $4.00 per slice. If someone tells you that they can bake you a wedding cake for $1.00 - $1.50 per slice RUN the other way. The cake topper is always a seperate price ($25 - $200).

Here's some budget help . .

Have a morning wedding followed by breakfast or brunch. Breakfast or brunch is always less expensive than lunch or dinner. And many restaurants or caterers have great brunch buffets.

Order small bouquets or bouquets made up of only one flower (all mums, all carnations, all roses).

Don't buy wedding or table favors (save your time, money and effort). Wedding guests don't like "cute" or "clever" favors. Bake some homemade cookies and put them in individual bags.

Eliminate "wedding day accessories" like feather pens, ethched toasting glasses . guest book . . expensive unity candle set . . ring bearer pillow . . basket of petals.

Only have a Maid of Honor and a Best Man (everytime you add a bridesmaid you have to buy another bouquet).
