I met a man through military singles.com. How can I find out if he is legit?

This man was claiming that he was a match for me. Claimed to live in Italy because he was in the navy, yet I was not able to find anything true about him. He's even sent me flowers through an online florist. He's talk to me on the phone, yet something just doesn't seem right about him. He claimed to be coming to my state and wanted to see me, yet all of a sudden he said he caught malaria. I have an email contact, and two pictures but it doesn't mean it's him. How can I find out if he is who he say he is? When he knows I'm suspicious of him he stops writing for a while then starts up again with his phony excuses.

There is nothing you can really do except pay for a website to check his name, address, etc... or hire a private investigator.

Yes there is US Military bases in Italy so that is a possibility, and often there can be days, weeks even months while they are doing something in which no contact is an option. He should tell you something about it though, not necessarily where he was but just something like "I was on a deployment so sorry". But I honestly doubt that he caught Malaria in Italy. That is a disease more in the tropics and he would have been immunized before going to certain areas.

Honestly I wouldn't look at a place like militarysingles.com Yes good relationships and even marriages have come through people meeting online but unforunately not everyone is honest out there. It even happens in real life as well I am sorry to say. If you have all these doubts then dont talk to him anymore, especially since he was the one who started it in the first place. If he is truly in love with you and wants this relationship to last he will not hide anything from you.
Reply:funny you would say that%26lt; i found my man there s well and we have been very happy for a year and are talking marriage. The only way to know for shure is to call the base locator at the installation he tells you he is at in Italy and give them hs name and they will be able to tell you if that is indeed the truth. Ask a few pointed questions such as who is your CO and what is your MOS and will there be a PCS soon...see what he says to you. Good luck and remember that there are phonies out there but also honest ones like mine. Good luck

I think you've answered your own question Dear. Something stinks in cyberspace.
Reply:That right there should tell you that its not for real. You can see if he has a profile on NTWS. If he does, then try to find people he is stationed with and contact them. BUt, I say he is a fraud or someone trying to play with you. Malaria, in Italy?
Reply:its not a good idea to find men online...they may have skeletons in their closets.
