Mail box flowerpots?

I am searching diligently for a flower pot that comes split in two pieces that you put around your mailbox post. We have searched everywhere...home depot, lowes. No one sells them. If you know of anywhere online or near Birmingham Alabama that we can get one please let us know!!!

Mail box flowerpots?
I looked online and it does seem hard to find something like that. I did find a few options and I'm putting them in the sources section. It will depend on how big your post is if they all work. My mailbox is on a wrought iron post and these would work for it, but if it is on something the size of a 4x4 they may not. I did find a number of mailbox posts with planters already attached so that might be something to consider. Good luck!
Reply:Why don't you just ask some friends and/or neighbors to save their old amilbox for you, if they buy a new one? Or ask people if you could buy their old mail box. Then turn what you acquire into flower pots or planters? All it takes is an old traditional mail box, a drill, a hack saw (optional) a bag of fertilzed dirt, flowers or plants, and water.
Reply:The reason you can't find them any more is that it is illegal to plant flowers around the mailbox because of bees being a hazard to the postal workers. You can plant ivy or other non-flowering plants, but not flowers.
Reply:Be inventive and make one up. Your local craft shop might have something like that.
