POLL: So what's the story behind how you got your name?

My name is Aivy, pronounced Ivy. I always asked my parents why they named me Aivy, but they always give different excuses like, "it means lives forever" or "it's a name of a flower" And I don't mean Ivy. I searched my name online and it said, I was named after Strawberry Vodka, weird. BTW (I'm asian that's probably why its my name)

my real name? shh, it's a top secret. haha - but it's a combination of my parents' names.



and as for YA username, avatar due to lack of creativeness when I first made this account. I sticked with it. I was advised to change name and photo/avatar frequently to ward off trolls but I guess I'll stick with this. Let them dislike me for all I care. As long as I'm not rude to anyone here, I'll be fine.

Isabelle: My dad named me after a Neil Young song called "Ambulance Blues" there's a line there that says:

"Oh, Isabela, proud Isabela"

I guess he liked it, but instead of Isabela, he made it Isabelle.



Maxime: From my great grandma named Maxima, my dad wanted to name me after her too. He just made it Maxime.

Reply:My parents were counting on a boy, so they didn't have any girls' names picked out. We're Catholic, so I had to be named after a saint. My mom had just converted and she didn't really know any saints' names, so she looked through a Catholic calendar that was in the hospital room. And that's how I became Angela.
Reply:My parents loved watching bewitched when they were little and they feel in love with the named Samantha... they thought of naming my bro samuel but they named him kyle instead so i was that lucky one named Samantha... If they going to name me samantha, i was either going to be named gemma of jeda.
Reply:My dad says that my mom named me Rikki because she was obsessed with the band Poison. But my mom says that she had wanted to name her kid that since she was like 15. She says it was the name of a friend of hers that was the host of a radio show.

my mom was a nanny and thought the daughter was the sweetest thing

so she named me after her

Reply:my parents just like the name emily so that why my first name is emily...my middle name is anne...my aunts name was anne...she died in a car accident when she was a kid so my mom wanted my to be named after her.
Reply:My name is Hannah Rose. It was originally going to be Ashley Rose but it sounded too much like a singer of that time (Axel Rose).
